Film Review : Rango

Rango

I watched this on DVD yesterday with my 6 year old son and 21 month little girl. It's about a pet chameleon that that comes across a little western town in the desert, where he is made sheriff and tries to make the town a better place. My little girl got fed up with it after about 10-15 minutes and went off playing with her toys, my 6 year year old enjoyed it and found some parts really funny, but wasn't fully engaged with it. I thought it was a little bit boring and I expected it to be a lot better especially since the voice of Rango is Johnny Depp. Personally think that there are a lot more better kids films out there than this. And plus I don't like westerns, so this didn't help matters.

Overall we give this

Snack Box

Here's another idea I found via pinterest, the original is Here and also another Here
A snack box for the kids (and me!)

I got different dried fruit, cranberries, cherries, strawberries and raisins and put them together in small self seal bags

Then I just put them in a box where the kids can easily get to them. I also filled some bags with cheerios and small cheesy crackers, and put a few cereal bars in there too.

How to fold plastic bags

Here's a great idea that I found over at A Lil Bird told me.. How to fold carrier bags into neat little triangles!

I got all my plastic carrier bags out from under the kitchen sink where I normally just stick them inside each other a put them anywhere they will fit. And decided to do this great idea. I was sitting at my dinning table folding my carrier bags into lovely neat triangles when my husband walked in, he asked me what i was doing and when i told him he just stared at me in disbelief and walked out the room shaking his head. I know this might sound a bit too far for some people, but I think it's great!! Just take a look at my nice folded carrier bags! they look tidy and take up a lot less room under my kitchen sink.

The tutorial is Here

Serenity Saturday : 3

just want to say sorry for this link up party being a day late, i've just been sooooo busy this weekend!

thank you to everyone who linked up this week. But i have to say the blog post that caught my eye this week was At home with Mrs H about the London riots, and the other riots that took place all over the UK. Thankfully it looks like they have come to an end, but at a cost of over £10 million! And sadly the death's of 5 people trying to protect their nieghbourhood's and communites. My thought's go out to all their familys.

I-spy sheets

I-spy colouring sheets are easy to make and great for keeping the kids busy when their bored. I found this great idea on pinterest, the original idea is here

All you have to do to make your own is go on google images and write in 'outline clipart'. there's loads to choose from, just save the image to your computer. When you have collected all the images you want just open word (or whatever you have) and randomly place the pictures on the page. Then print out, your done!

to play say to your child 'i spy a tree' or whatever, and once they found it they colour it in. And when you play next time, just re-arrange the pictures around before you print the sheets out
